Virtual vs In-Person Consultations

A brief virtual conversation can help you decide whether it is worth travelling for a full consultation — you can describe your concern, hear about the general approach, and get a sense of fit with the surgeon. It is not a diagnostic or planning session.

For any operation to be planned honestly, an in-person examination is required. Skin quality, tissue thickness, bone structure, breathing, symmetry, scars and posture all inform the plan in ways that a camera does not capture. Quotes are not issued from a video call.

Out-of-town patients often combine a first in-person consultation with a scan of imaging on the same day, and use follow-up video calls for post-operative check-ins where clinically appropriate.
