Evaluating Surgeon Experience and Specialisation
Ask directly: how often do you do this operation, at which hospitals, and with what revision rate?
Experience is best measured procedurally, not in total years. A surgeon who has done thousands of hand cases is not automatically the right choice for a rhinoplasty. Ask specifically how often the surgeon performs the exact operation you are considering, and how long they have been doing that operation.
Ask about revision rates for that procedure — a considered answer with a specific number is a good sign. 'None' is not a credible answer for any surgeon; every honest practice has a small revision rate.
Sub-specialty focus is often a stronger indicator than raw volume. A surgeon who has narrowed their aesthetic practice to a handful of procedures they perform routinely is typically a safer choice than one who advertises every operation on the market.
